Flower of the may-apple plant. These plants emerge in early spring and produce beautiful dark green umbrella-like foliage. A single bloom forms, which produces a single fruit or may-apple, which gradually turns a pale yellow when ripe in August. The flesh of the plant is said to have a similar taste to paw-paw.
